Food Intolerance vs Food Allergies

Food allergies are rare, affecting around 2% of the adult population. Food intolerances are much more common!

Symptoms of food intolerances range and may include headaches, migraines, stomach pain, bloating, diarrhoea, constipation, acne, eczema, tiredness, lethargy, coughing or hives.

Current advice for those with suspected food intolerances is simply to try an “elimination diet”. This trial-and-error approach can be time consuming and frustrating, and is unlikely to result in an accurate self-diagnosis. As food intolerance symptoms can take several hours to appear, it is difficult to identify which ingredient has caused the symptoms as you may have consumed another meal by the time the symptoms arise.

Elimination diets are also restrictive and may mean you do not have a balanced diet required for optimum health.

We have a range of food intolerance tests available, which can test against 100, 150, or 200 different food ingredients, there are specific tests available for those who suffer with Irritable Bowel syndrome or who would like some Ideal Weight Support. To find out more, please click the link here.
